Facebook introduced a new feature recently which allows you to explain exactly "how you know" a friend on your list. The choices are pretty well fleshed out, too. The only problem is this whole "dating" feature. One must choose from five possible outcomes, including and limited to: we went out once, short and sweet, got a little serious, it's complicated, and practically married. Then three suggestions for current status: still together, we get along great, and we aren't speaking. Additionally, there is the form field for "we hooked up" completely apart from these fields. The worst part of the whole thing is that the friend relevant to the request is asked for confirmation and is offered the ability to change specific details. This is where things really could get nasty. I didn't put up most of my ex-gifriends because of it…who is going to dare evaluating something like that some seven years after the fact?
